Environmental Policy
In 1998, Slaney Foods was granted an Integrated Pollution Control Licence by the Environmental Protection Agency. This licence, now known as an Integrated Pollution Prevention Control (IPPC) licence, covers all environmental emissions and the environmental management of the site.
Our policy commits us to meet our IPPC licence (Reg.No.: P0047-03) requirements and also, all legislative, customer and other subscribed requirements through the implementation of an Environmental Management System.
This policy will be upheld and communicated to all relevant parties to ensure the successful implementation of our Environmental Management System and to consequently meet the requirements of the company’s environmental obligations.

- To communicate our policy principles and to communicate openly with all relevant parties (internal and external) in relation to environmental and other activities on the site
- To comply with all relevant legislation and other requirements
- To operate in an environmentally responsible manner and prevent pollution
- To continually improve our environmental performance by setting and reviewing objectives and targets and implementing environmental management programs to achieve those objectives and targets
- To uphold the highest of environmental standards and implement Best Available Technology
- To operate in harmony with the local and wider community
- To promote environmental awareness within our company
- To provide relevant training to all personnel
- To implement the waste hierarchy principle of waste prevention, minimisation, reuse/ recycling, treatment and disposal
- To actively implement a resource consumption minimisation policy in particular for energy and water consumption
- To monitor and measure our impact on the environment by means of the policies and procedures of our EMS
- To work together and with all other relevant parties to enable the full and complete implementation of this policy.
