High Standards in the 7th Annual Beef Carcase Competition

This year’s competition attracted many entries from various counties, all vying to become an overall champion in their class. The week long event concluded with a prize giving dinner in the Mill Race Hotel in Bunclody, with a total prize fund of €6,500 awarded at the function.

Each daily winner received €500, with the owners of the Supreme Champion scoping an additional €800 each in recognition of their excellence.

As well as the regular classes of Best Steer, Heifer and Angus, an additional class of Best Carcase presented by a Young Farmer was in place. This class added an extra dimension to the competition.
