Introduction

Slaney Foods Labs

Slaney Foods are consistently exceeding the standard quality requirements, having been granted numerous quality awards by the state and by their own customers. Our aim is to maintain and improve our product’s safety and quality standards, by consistently meeting the stringent standards set out both in legislation and by our customers.

Food Safety

Established HACCP and quality systems maintain food safety and quality. In addition, quality functions within Slaney Foods are continually developed and enhanced to meet legal obligations and to stay abreast of challenging ‘in house’ and external objectives. Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) is a proactive, preventative system which identifies, evaluates and controls hazards that could pose a threat to food safety. Hazards are identified and critical control points are monitored throughout the entire slaughtering, boning, packing and storage process, rather than relying on final product testing. In other word, ‘Prevention is better than cure’. The HACCP system is an effective vehicle towards achieving Slaney Foods’ goal of supplying a top quality and safe product. Commitment and wholehearted participation at all levels within Slaney Foods, guarantees a food safety awareness that adds to the final product quality and service.

Traceability

Integrated throughout the process is a comprehensive traceability system.

Accredited Laboratory

Slaney Foods CLAS Accredited Laboratory is an additional tool used to compliment the Quality System that helps to ensure food safety. This accredited laboratory enables a comprehensive, customised and flexible analysis regime on a daily basis. This approach provides full compliance with EU testing requirements and verification of our HACCP system, in addition to tailored customer analysis suites.

Slaney Foods Accreditations

Slaney Foods’ processing facilities holds the European Food Safety Inspectorate Higher Level accreditation since 2001. Quality Assurance and Product Safety is of the highest importance to Slaney Foods. All our meat is manufactured in our dedicated EU approved meat plant, which is accredited to BRC (British Retail Consortium), and BORD BIA standards.
